Partner skills
The study of the wave hydrodynamics and how they interact with the infrastructures built along the coast is the main motivation for the IHCantabria. It focuses on the development of advanced numerical tools and methodologies that enable the characterization of wave transformation processes.
Transnational experience
5 Atlantic Area projects focused on marine renewable energy, water quality, oil spill and ecosystem services (MAREN 1 and 2, PORTONOVO, SPRES, ALICE), 3 of them as coordinators. HYDRALAB+ H2020: network of coastal infrastructures; and MARINET 2 H2020: network of installations for marine energy.
Role in the project
IHCantabria will be a project partner responsible of the evaluation and optimization of different marine renewable energy technologies for the three target ports. Moreover, IHCantabria will contribute to the project with its knowledge about both coastal engineering and innovative renewable energies.
